Chances are if you didn't watch the Golden Globes last night, you at least read something about them this morning. Getting as much attention as the nominees and winners were the gowns. That's right, there is a best and worst dressed list to be compiled, so we're wondering your thoughts.
It was hard to ignore the overpowering presence of vintage Hollywood glamour. The gowns were tailored and modest. The fabrics were elegant and sleek. The overall effect was a beautiful and a welcome tribute to traditional grandeur.
What varied were, of course, the cuts and colors of the dresses. Black, white and red seemed to have a strong presences at this particular show. Of course there were other colors sprinkled into the mix, but the ever predictable hues of old school Hollywood prevailed.
It seemed that the stars were more focused on glamour than sex appeal, and that really is a welcomed change. Gone (at least for now) are the wow factors brought on by the down right bizarre. Sorry Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, but this night is all about class not crazy.
Don't get us wrong, there was still a dramatic distinction to be found on each gown, it was just more, regal. For example, the added effect of a cape, the plunge of a neckline, or the flare of a skirt.
All of it was so dreamy. One thing is for certain, this will impact the looks of the entire year. You can bet that styles for Prom, Derby, Wedding and any other formal affair will somehow mirror the modest, sleek and simple glamour from this year's Golden Globe Awards.
And the fathers of teenage daughters just let out a collect sign of relief.
